Lakshya: Hrithik Roshan's A great patriotic movie based on Kargil war operation Tiger Hill. This is a must watch movie for every youngsters, full of patriotism and well deserved movie for Republic day movies list.
Mother India: This is Oscar nominated movie and very successful movie of bollywood. It is the story of a poverty-stricken village woman named Radha who, amid many other trials and tribulations, struggles to raise her sons and survive against an evil money-lender. Despite her hardship, she sets a goddess-like moral example of what it means to be an Indian woman, yet kills her own criminal son at the end for the greater moral good. She metaphorically represents India as a nation in the aftermath of independence.
Haqeeqat: is a 1964 Hindi war-film directed by Chetan Anand. It was supported by the Government of India.The movie stars Balraj Sahni, Dharmendra, Priya Rajvansh, Sanjay Khan and Vijay Anand. the music is by Madan Mohan and the lyrics by Kaifi Azmi. The movie was based on the 1962 Sino-Indian War. It won the National Film Award for Second Best Feature Film in 1965.
Shaheed: a 1965 Hindi movie based on Bhagat Singh's life. Produced by Kewal Kashyap and directed by S Ram Sharma the film stars Manoj Kumar (in the first of his patriotic series of films), Kamini Kaushal, Pran, Iftekhar, Nirupa Roy, Prem Chopra, Madan Puri, Asit Sen, Indrani Mukherjee and Anwar Hussain. The films music is by Prem Dhawan with some memorable songs written by Ram Prasad Bismil. The chorus song Sarfaroshi Ki Tamanna was beautifully sung by Mohd. Rafi and others.At the 13th National Film Awards, it won the award for Best Feature Film in Hindi, Nargis Dutt Award for Best Feature Film on National Integration and Best Story Award for B. K. Dutt and Din Dayal Sharma.
Chak De India: Chak De! India is a 2007 Indian sports drama film about field hockey in India. Directed by Shimit Amin and produced by Yash Raj Films, the film stars Shahrukh Khan as Kabir Khan, the former captain of the Indian hockey team. In the plot, after a disastrous loss to the Pakistan hockey team, Khan is ostracized from the sport. He and his mother are further forced from their ancestral home by angry neighbors. Seven years later in an attempt to redeem himself, Khan becomes the coach for the India women's national field hockey team with the goal of turning its sixteen contentious players into a champion team. After leading the women's team to the Gold, Khan restores his reputation and returns with his mother to their home, welcomed by those who had shunned them years before.
Rang De Basanti: The story is about a British documentary filmmaker who is determined to make a film on Indian freedom fighters based on diary entries by her grandfather, a former officer of the British Indian Army. Upon arriving in India, she asks a group of five young men to act in her film. They agree, but after they begin filming a friend of theirs is killed in a fighter aircraft crash, with government corruption appearing to be the root cause of the incident. This event radicalizes them from being carefree to passion-driven individuals who are determined to avenge his death.
Lagaan: Another Oscar Nominated Indian Movie. The film is set in the Victorian period of India's colonial British Raj and revolves around the peasants from a barren village who are oppressed by high taxes imposed by their rulers. They attempt to persuade the British officers to reduce the taxes because of poor agricultural production. Instead, a wager is offered: If their village team beats a British team in a game of cricket, their taxes for three years would be cancelled. After accepting this wager, the villagers face the arduous task of learning an alien game and playing for a result that will change their village's destiny.
The Legend Of Bhagat Singh: The Legend of Bhagat Singh shows in detail how Singh came to develop his views on the British Raj and his struggle for Indian independence. The film begins with scenes depicting how the British attempted to dispose of Singh's body, so that he could not be made into a martyr, and then flashbacks to the past to tell his story. A historical feel was created by using a sepia tint throughout the film.
Border: The movie is an adaptation from real life events that happened at the Battle of Longewala fought in Rajasthan (Western Theatre) during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971 and Bangladesh Liberation War. It is about how a band of 120 soldiers of the Punjab regiment of the Indian Army headed by Major Kuldip Singh Chandpuri successfully defended their post all night against a whole Tank regiment of the Pakistani Army, until assistance came from the Indian Air Force the next morning. The film was a critical and commercial hit in India.
Gadar Ek Prem katha: The story begins with Sikhs and Hindus being attacked by Muslims in Pakistan when trying to migrate to India on a train in response to the killing of Muslims going to Pakistan from India. To get revenge, Sikhs and Hindus react by doing the same thing. During the Hindu-Muslim riots that erupted soon after the Partition, Tara saves Sakina from a murderous mob chasing her as she failed to get onto the train after being pushed and lost in the crowd. As the mob want to rape her and then murder her, Tara Singh defends Sakina and disguises her as a Sikh to protect her.
