The date of 26 January was chosen to honour the declaration of independence of 1930. It is one of the three national holidays in India. While the main parade takes place in the national capital, New Delhi, at the Rajpath before the President of India (currently Pranab Mukherjee, the anniversary is also celebrated with varying degrees of formality in state capitals and other centres.

Republic Day 2014 in India is going to be special in India as it is also happens to be 65th Republic day and it is going to be celebrated in grand way. Every year it is celebrated on 26th January and this year also it will be celebrated at Rajpath and parade takes place in Delhi after speech of Prime minister.
